Grant Denyer admitted on Monday that his nervousness almost got the better of him while hosting the reformatted series Deal or No Deal.
The veteran presenter, 46, told 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin that he felt a lot of pressure to host the internationally successful game show.
‘It is a global format, very successful. It’s been in 80 markets, so it’s a big one. So there is a lot of pressure,” he began.
“There’s a lot of traffic on the network, so I don’t have any fingernails left and I had a puke in the corner.”
Denyer replaced Andrew O’Keefe as host of the rebooted Deal or no Deal series that premiered Monday, 10 years after the original series ended.

The Gold Logie winner promised listeners that the new series would be absolutely riveting.
‘I didn’t think it would be as sensational as it is. It’s dramatic and fun and has heart and humor in it.’
Earlier this month, the former Sunrise weatherman revealed that fans can expect one big change to the Deal or No Deal format.
The revamped show will no longer feature an array of glamorous models, a role etched in history after the future Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was one such model between 2006 and 2007.
Instead, it’s the contestants who open the show’s signature suitcases.

Meanwhile, Grant explained Television tonight that the show has been reduced from an hour to thirty minutes.
“We’ve reduced the number of cases from 26 to 22 to accommodate that, give a little bit more room to breathe and just be a little more playful,” Grant said.
He continued, “There’s a little more heart and humanity in it. It surprised me somewhat. I expected it to be good, but I didn’t expect it to be great, I fucking love it.’
Originally shown on Channel Seven, Deal or No Deal was canceled in 2014 after a ten-year run.
Deal or No Deal debuted in 2003 and was hosted by Andrew O’Keefe, who has since had a very public battle with drug addiction and is not returning to the show.
