Granite Island: Search to resume for missing teenage swimmer in vanished in Father’s Day tragedy off Victor Harbour

A large-scale search for a missing teenager last seen swimming south of Adelaide will resume in daylight.

Emergency services were called after the 17-year-old boy disappeared in the waters off Granite Island, near Victor Harbor, 83km south of Adelaide, at around 3.15pm on Sunday.

The South African Police coordinated a search and rescue operation, which also involved Polair and the local rescue service. Unfortunately, at the time of publication, the teenager has not been found.

Superintendent Joanne Howard said the search for the teenage boy will continue during the day on Monday.
