A 95-year-old grandmother who was beaten by a caregiver said she had indeed tried to defend herself but was “weak” in the face of her attacker.
Dorothy Foye was being cared for by Medflyt’s female assistant at Home Health Care Agency in New York City on July 21 when she was attacked.
Footage from the Nest and Ring cameras showed the worker shouting, “You’re making me angry,” at the elderly woman before violently throwing two objects at her.
Later in the video she hits her with a pan, which Dorothy holds back with her arm, then throws the pan over her head.
The man is then seen approaching Dorothy again with another pan, repeatedly hitting her in the head as she clings to her walker, until she falls to the ground.
Dorothy Foye, 95, who was punched by a carer, has now revealed she did try to fight back but was ‘weak’ in the face of her attacker
Dorothy was battered and bruised from the attack. She has difficulty lifting her arms and is still in pain. Doctors are concerned about possible blood clots.
A few days after the attack, the old woman said she was unable to “beat that big woman.”
“If I said I feel good, I would be lying. I tried to fight back, but I’m weak. I can’t fight that big woman,” she said Fox5Vegas.
Dorothy continued, “I’d like to beat her myself, and find somebody else to beat her like she beat me.”
Her daughter Ramona Mitchell was not in the apartment and received a call from her daughter, who had watched the attack on her phone.
She said her other daughter, Tiffany, called Michelle and said her grandmother was being attacked, and she then called Ramona, crying.

“Tiffany just told me the girl beat her up, Michelle was crying and screaming on the train ‘oh my God, grandma’s been beaten up’,” she said ABC7.
Michelle said witnessing the “horrific” attack was a “nightmare” and one of the worst days of her life.
“I felt helpless… it was the worst thing I could imagine,” she said.
“It was so surreal to me that someone could hit someone like he was beating them up.”
Police are looking for the worker, but have not yet been able to arrest her.
“We are conducting an internal investigation with the New York City Police Department and are cooperating with authorities,” Medflyt said.
