In the Central Coast Mariners’ wild A-League title celebrations, as Grand Final hero Jason Cummings takes on two goats and ‘Stone Cold’ recreates Steve Austin’s signature ‘bear smash’
Channeling his inner ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Central Coast hero Jason Cummings took on two goats as the Mariners celebrated a first A-League title in 10 years.
Scottish-born Socceroo scored a hat-trick as Central Coast beat three-time reigning premiers Melbourne City 6-1 in Sydney on Saturday night.
Leading up to the Grand Finals, Cummings revealed that the decider would be his “last dance with the Mariners,” but after the game he made it clear that celebrating the title would take precedence over figuring out his future.
And the Joe Marston Medalist kept his word by capturing the Mariners’ raucous party.
In a video he shared on Instagram, Cummings recreated Austin’s signature “beer smash” by opening two beer cans, smashing them together and having the contents spray all over him.

Cummings was also seen playfully interacting with two goats (left) and looking to paddle a kayak (right) while wearing his A-League winners medal around his neck
Footage shared on social media by Mariners midfielder Harrison Steele also shows Cummings playfully taking on two goats.
The former Dundee striker can then be seen sitting on a kayak and trying to paddle away from a jetty, still wearing his A-League winners’ medal around his neck.
Fittingly, the soundtrack of both videos is Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions’.
Cummings’ 18-month deal with the Mariners expires at the end of the month, but he insisted he had yet to make a decision on his future as he credited Mariners coach Nick Montgomery for saving his career .
“Everyone knows how much this club means to me,” Cummings said after the Mariners thrashed City.
“I was at a stage in my career, Dundee let me go and [Montgomery] gave me a chance with the Mariners and the last year and a half has just been a dream come true.
“Now I have to enjoy the moment, go back with the boys and enjoy it with my family and the fans. And then we’ll see what happens.’
Cummings’ career has changed since moving to Central Coast and he will be part of the championship squad in the coming weeks that will be courted by wealthier outfits in Australia and elsewhere.

Sailors operate on one of the A-League’s smallest budgets and Montgomery acknowledged that Cummings was unlikely to be the only departure.
“We are a selling club, the club has to sell players to survive,” he said.
“I have no doubts that we’re going to get offers and the quality of the players on display tonight, no one doubts the value of that squad. But that wasn’t there at the start of the season.
“If we lose them, that’s football. We will attract new players. I’m sure the phone will ring for the chairman in the coming weeks.’
