Grammys 2024: Dua Lipa fans claim host Trevor Noah is ‘trying to get her back’ as he heaps praise on former flame’s VERY racy performance

Dua Lipa fans are convinced Trevor Noah was ‘trying to get her back’ as she praised her performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

After kicking off the show by performing alongside a number of scantily clad dancers, the 28-year-old pop star, who is dating Callum Turner, received praise from her ex-boyfriend.

‘Wow! Are you joking? Come on, give it up, all of you! That was amazing! Dua Lipa!’ the South African comedian said after the performance as he urged the audience to applaud.

He continued, “That’s why she’s one of the best artists of a generation! I’ll never look at scaffolding the same way again. Have you seen that thing?’

While on stage, Lipa’s dancers did pull-ups and other exercises on a jungle gym-like metal structure while she sang her songs Training Season and Houdini.

Afterwards, social media users flocked to X (formerly known as Twitter) to say it was “SO funny” that Noah had to announce Lipa.

Another mused that he was “old enough to remember when Trevor Noah dated Dua Lipa.”

A second asked to “just clarify” how the former couple used to date.

Others couldn’t believe Noah was expected to introduce his ex at the awards show, as they called the introduction “crazy.”

While fans may think Noah shot his shot, a new life between them seems unlikely as she is in a happy relationship with Turner, 33.

The British actor, 33, best known for his roles in drama film Queen and Country (2014) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022), and singer are ‘crazy about each other’, according to reports Page six.

Dua’s latest romance comes after her split from French boyfriend Romain Gavras.

Romain is the ‘nepo baby’ of Costa-Gavras, the famous Greek-French director of classic left-wing films such as Z and State of Siege.

In December, reports began circulating that Dua and Romain had ended their months-long relationship.

“Dua and Romain have gone their separate ways after a summer full of love,” an insider told The Sun. ‘She has blinders on when it comes to her career and the couple ended the relationship before things turned sour.’

Meanwhile, Noah has most recently been linked to Zoë Mabie, but neither has confirmed or denied the reports.

In late 2022, Lipa and Noah became romantically involved after being seen locking lips in exclusive images obtained by DailyMail.com.

An onlooker told DailyMail.com: ‘They sat quietly away from everyone else in the restaurant. It was clear that they adored each other and sat close together throughout the meal. They left together and walked, stopping for long embraces and on the second kiss with hugs.”

Dua previously dated model Anwar Hadid, the younger brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid.

The two reportedly started dating in June 2019, shortly after she split from her previous boyfriend. At the time, TMZ reported that the two developed a bond after Anwar played her some of the music he had been working on.

After it became known that the Levitating singer was single, the two started dating and were spotted at award shows and on his birthday.

At the beginning of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the two even quarantined together.

“I feel very comfortable in the relationship, more than anyone,” she told Rolling Stone in her cover story for the February 2021 issue. “(We) wake up around 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., shower, get dressed , have breakfast, take the dog on a really nice long walk, maybe do some yoga, have some lunch, hang out, watch a movie, play with the animals.’

But the two would reportedly break up and then get back together throughout the relationship, and by the end of 2021, they were on the rocks due to increased travel keeping them apart.

They were said to have called it quits last December – apparently for good.

Prior to her relationship with Anwar, Dua dated chef and model Isaac Carew from 2015 to early 2017.

She briefly dated Paul Klein, the frontman of the rock band LANY, before getting back together with Carew in early 2018. They broke up for the last time in May 2019.

Trevor’s most recent serious relationship was with actress Minka Kelly. In September 2020, it was reported that they had been dating for a while, even quarantining together early in the pandemic.

They broke off the tumultuous relationship in May 2021, only to be seen together again later that month.

The comedian and the TV star became more open about the relationship as the year progressed, but it came to an end in May this year.

Although there appear to be no previous signs that Dua and Trevor are dating, they may have had a high-profile encounter at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Las Vegas in April this year.
