The Chelsea manager insisted the England international’s potential is ‘beyond heaven’

“My job is to help him reach his potential, because his potential extends beyond the sky.

‘We love him. He is so important to us. My job is to help him reach his potential, and his potential is to become a Chelsea legend.

“That’s the level he has, the potential he has. For that he has to be part of a successful team. That’s what we’re working towards.’

It was all smiles for James after the 3-0 win alongside fellow academy graduate Mason Mount

The 22-year-old has scored five goals and nine assists in just 26 Premier League appearances last season and has already scored twice in all competitions this season.

Summer signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Wesley Fofana also joined James on the scoresheet against Milan, with the Gabonese striker scoring his second goal since coming out of Barcelona on the deadline.

The Chelsea academy graduate continues to impress England manager Gareth Southgate, who has so far preferred him over Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold for next month’s World Cup.
