A jersey swap between two NBA players – Gradey Dick of the Toronto Raptors and Anthony Black of Orlando Magic – has raised eyebrows as fans claimed it created the “biggest TV moment of 2024.”
As they hugged the middle of the court after the surging Magic pulled away from the slumping Raptors (111-96) on Sunday night in Orlando, the two highly rated rookies couldn’t help but flash the grins on their faces as they posed for photos with their last names next to each other.
Online evidence shows that Dick even said the words “f*** it” before the exchange, suggesting he knew exactly what he was doing, along with Black, who repositioned himself for the cameras.
Later on Dick’s Instagram Story, a photo of the jersey change was uploaded, along with the caption, “Always good to see my boy!” @anthonyblack’
Dick also commented on Barstool Sports’ post about the jersey change: “whoopsie.”

A photo of the jersey change was initially shared by the Magic’s X account before it was deleted
What’s more is that Magic’s social media team innocently shared a photo of the jersey change on X, but later had to delete it as many fans reacted to the viral moment.
Among them was ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who tweeted at X: “Good lord.”
Another user said: ‘Gradey Dick is going on a world tour making as many jokes about his last name as possible and I’m here for it.’
Someone else thinking along the same lines pointed out that “Gradey Dick is doing all these jersey swaps” with photos of Derrick White, Nassir Little, Draymond Green and Jaylen Brown.
After the banter, Dick managed to get into double figures against Orlando, scoring 10 points on 4 for 11 shooting. He was 2 for 3 from behind the arc.
Black, on the other hand, only scored two points, his only theft of the game.
The playoff-bound Magic (No. 5) play the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, while the Raptors (No. 12) take on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
