Government to give white ration cards to poor in Telangana: Congress leader Rao

As part of 'Praja Palana' (people's government) in Telangana, Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao has said that the state government will give white ration cards to the poor in Telangana from December 28 to January 6.

“From the day of the formation of Congress on December 28 to January 6, we will go to every house and distribute white ration cards to the poor in the state who will get the benefits. My request is that every worker, every district president, NSUI and the Youth Congress should go to every house and spread awareness about the programme… CM Revanth Reddy has done a good job,” Rao told ANI.

Further, reacting to BRS leader K Kavitha's comments that Congress had failed to lift the hijab ban in Karnataka, the former Rajya Sabha MP said anyone can speak whatever he wants but CM Siddaramaiah will lift the ban soon, as he promised.

“Whatever CM Siddaramaiah said will be implemented,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy on Saturday promised to introduce a casual policy of Rs 5 lakh for gig workers, such as those involved in food delivery, driving taxis and auto-rickshaws, and medical care up to Rs 10 lakh under the Rajiv Arogyasri -program.

The Telangana Chief Minister also promised to make available an app being developed by T-Hub on the lines of Ola.

Chief Minister Reddy made the remarks during a meeting to find out the problems faced by taxi drivers, food delivery personnel and auto drivers at Nampally Exhibition Grounds.

“In addition to focusing on profits, organizations must also pay attention to the well-being of workers and employees. The government will not hesitate to take strict action against any major organization that fails to follow the give and take policy,” the CM said. .
