Professional dancer Gorka Márquez is reportedly leaving Strictly Come Dancing after seven years on the show.
The 32-year-old star narrowly missed out on lifting the Glitterball Trophy for a third time last week when she came in second to celebrity partner Helen Skelton, as Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal were crowned the winners.
When the winners were announced, many took to Twitter to get his reaction, saying he was “angry” at missing out and had his award “stolen.”

Now Sun reports that Gorka is feeling the ‘seven-year itch’ and is looking for new opportunities after Helen earlier claimed that ‘every pro on the show’ was desperate for him to win this year.
A source told the publication: “He seemed so devastated last week because he knew the final could be his last chance to take home the Glitterball, which had eluded him twice before.”
“Gorka has become an established figure in the pageant and a name in his own right, which could allow him to move on to bigger things.

Viewers flocked to Twitter after the nail-biting finale on Saturday to say they thought Gorka and his dance partner Helen had their mirror ball trophy “stolen” and that it looked like he was “furious”.
Hamza and Jowita were crowned the winners of the hit show, despite landing at the bottom of the leaderboard thanks to their Showdance, which was called “disappointing”.

“Gorka is absolutely furious and rightfully so,” another fan added.

After the final, Helen said it was clear from the faces of her and her partner Gorka “how heartbroken” they were for not lifting the Glitterball trophy.
She spoke after viewers saw Gorka “furious” in the final, saying that “every professional on the show” was desperate for him to win, after he previously reached the final twice without success.
Accompanied by the dancer on her Radio 5 show on Monday, she told listeners: “All the professionals on the show were desperate for him to win and that says everything about him.”
Adding: “He is my hero of the week.”
