Gorgeous NYC mansion featured in The Devil Wears Prada hits the market for $27 MILLION

The New York City mansion that fashion terror Miranda Priestly called home in the movie The Devil Wears Prada has hit the market for a whopping $27 million.

The house is five stories high at 129 East 73rd Street on the Upper East Side and has seven bedrooms spread over 12,000 square feet.

There are 10 bathrooms – four half, six full – and a total of 20 rooms spread throughout the house.

Built in 1906 and then renovated in 2005, the house stands 22 feet wide—impressive for any space in NYC—and appears to have remained largely unchanged inside since Andy Sachs in the 2006 film unluckily attempted to deliver a book to the residence.

The house, mentioned by Coldwell Banker, even has a half-basketball court in addition to a rooftop terrace.

The Upper East Side mansion is on the market for a whopping $27,500,000

The house, at 129 East 73rd Street, was featured in the movie The Devil Wears Prada, where Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, handed a book to harrying editor Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep.

The film was based on a book of the same name written by a former staff member of Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The film was released in 2006 and became a huge success, grossing over $320 million.

Streep was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her portrayal of Priestly. She lost the award to Helen Mirren in The Queen.

The lavish home was designed by renowned architect Stanford White.

According to the listing, the renovation was supervised by designer Diamond Barrata.

Three sets of French doors at the main entrance open into a foyer with the home’s first working fireplace.

There is a den with vaulted ceilings, doors and wood panelling, leading to the eat-in kitchen which is currently painted white with matching cabinetry.
