Composing the perfect Gmail message on the go will soon be easier than ever thanks to an AI upgrade coming to the platform.
Google’s email service has announced that it is adding even more Gemini AI tools to help users compose and write emails on their mobile devices.
The new releases include an upgrade to the existing Help Me Write feature, with a new Polish feature that helps you clean up drafts or rough notes and turn them into a perfect message.
Polish my emails
In a Google Workspace update blog post Announcing the news, the company said that the new additions will allow users to compose emails even faster. Now, users just need to make rough notes in a draft and select Polish.
Users can now choose from even more options when creating a draft, with the new Polish tool available alongside Formalize, Elaborate, and Trim.
The new additions are rolling out now to the Gmail apps for both Android and iOS devices. When users open a blank email draft, they’ll see a “Help me write” shortcut, but after writing 12 or more words, this will change to a “refine my draft” option, which can be accessed by swiping right on the text.
The feature is enabled by default and does not require administrator control. Furthermore, the feature cannot be disabled by the user.
However, the tools aren’t available to everyone. Initially, they’ll only be available to people who’ve paid for a Google One AI Premium account, the Google Workspace Gemini Business and Enterprise add-on, or the Gemini Education and Education Premium add-on.
The news is the latest addition to Gemini in Google Workspace as the company looks to provide more AI tools to users. It recently confirmed the general availability of Gemini as a new side panel in popular apps including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. However, only paying Google Workspace customers will have access to it for now.
