Google is getting a Barbie makeover! Search Engine unveils a special pink theme to mark the release of a new movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling

  • Google has unveiled a new Easter egg for fans looking for the new Barbie movie
  • The highly anticipated film will be released in the US and UK on Friday (July 21).

With only a few days left until the release of the new Barbie movie, Google is joining the pink parade and has added an exciting surprise for fans.

The search engine has embraced “Kenergy” with a new Easter egg for fans searching for the movie.

Users searching for the movie, the director or the two leads Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are greeted with a sparkling pink screen.

Available on both mobile and desktop, the lavish greeting changes the usual white background to a more Barbie-appropriate pink.

Following the Barbie buzz, Google has unveiled a new pink theme in the final countdown to the film’s release. Fans looking for the film are greeted by an extravagant pink display

It’s the latest in a long line of promotional activities for the much-anticipated movie, following the release of sizzling movie posters, Barbie dolls and a series of enticing trailers.

But perhaps most extravagant of all was a bright pink Malibu Dreamhouse that popped up in California seemingly overnight.

Google is no stranger to adding features to various search results, and its latest update is bound to add to Barbie’s buzz.

Fans reacted to the latest pink promo on Twitter. One of them said, “This movie’s budget is insane.”

Another agreed: “The promotion for this movie is on another level, we love that.”

While others are seemingly fed up with the over-marketing, one user joked, “We almost survived the promotional disaster of 2023.”

Others noted that the film has surpassed its rival film, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which is due out on the same day.

Users commented, “Oppenheimer going to sell better” and “Terminated Oppenheimer.”

The two movies are among the most hyped events of 2023, with some fans even planning to watch the movies back to back this weekend.

Ahead of the release, Barbie’s UK premiere took place last week and a host of A-listers joined the movie star on the pink carpet to celebrate.

Thousands of fans flocked to central London to catch a glimpse of the stars, but many were disappointed after missing wristbands for front row seats.
