Google TV introduces beautiful new AI-generated wallpapers – here’s how to find them
When Google launched the Google TV Streamer in August, some of the features were promised for other Google TV devices as well – and one of the best features has now arrived. Google’s AI screensaver generator is now being rolled out worldwide.
As always with Google feature updates, the rollout won’t happen on every device at the same time. Here’s how to tell if the feature has landed on your streamer or TV and where to find the AI-generated screen savers.
How to find the AI screensavers on your Google TV
Google posted a new support document which explains how to access the feature:
- Select on the Google TV home screen Settings > System > Ambient Mode.
- Choose what you want to show: Google Photos, Art Gallery or Custom AI art.
If you don’t see the Custom AI Art option, it means the new AI feature hasn’t arrived on your device yet. But if Custom AI Art is available, you can choose from a gallery of pre-made AI-generated images or add your own.
You can add new wallpapers in three ways: by providing a descriptive prompt telling Google TV what you want it to create, by typing it in, or by using your remote’s microphone; by using ‘Inspire Me’ to randomly generate something; or by selecting a particular art style and letting Google TV guide you through the rest, step by step.
The initial results look very impressive, and if you don’t like what Google TV has created, you can click Edit to adjust it or Regenerate to create an entirely new image. Naturally, there is also a Save option that you can use to save wallpapers to your gallery.
