Google Pixel 8 video leak reveals new blue color and Audio Magic Eraser

We’re counting down the days until the launch of the Google Pixel 8 and the Google Pixel 8 Pro, and a recently leaked promo video shows off a new blue color for the phone, as well as what appears to be a new audio editing feature.

Posted by EZ on X/Twitter (via 9to5Google), the video shows someone skateboarding down a path. There’s a Pixel logo in the top corner and we see the familiar “engineered by Google” phrase that’s appeared in previous Pixel promotional materials.

A tap of an Audio Magic Eraser button removes background noise from the skateboard. It appears to be an AI-powered feature that identifies, isolates and removes noise, leaving more important audio such as vocals and music.

Google already offers Magic Eraser, which allows you to remove people and objects from photos with one tap. The feature was originally a Pixel exclusive and is now available to anyone who pays for a Google One storage plan.

Blue is the color

At the end of the leaked clip, we see what appears to be the Pixel 8 Pro in a light blue color. It’s similar to the sea color you can get the Google Pixel 7a in, but it’s hard to tell if it’s exactly the same hue we’ve seen before.

We do catch a glimpse of the triple-lens camera module on the rear of the Pixel 8 Pro, with the raised bar we’ve seen from existing Pixel phones. The flash and temperature sensor are also visible here, and the metal appears to have a satin finish.

So far, the rumors surrounding the Pixel 8 have been mixed. In some areas, we don’t expect too much to change yet: the existing 128GB and 256GB storage options will apparently carry over to the new phones as well.

However, we could see a significant upgrade in terms of screens, with screens that improve brightness and refresh rate rumored to be in the pipeline. If Google sticks to its usual schedule, the Pixel 8 should appear in October.
