Users of the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices can secure their data without having to pay for an additional Android VPN after the company said it would include its Google One VPN service at no additional cost.
The move will make the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro the first smartphones with a free VPN connection.
However, the offer is limited to only a few countries – and in addition, some data is not secured in the VPN tunnel.

Despite the aforementioned limits, the major tech giant assures that the VPN software will not associate users’ app and browsing data with user accounts.
Google One VPN typically costs around $10 per month as part of the company’s Premium One plan, which also comes with 2TB of cloud storage on top.
This decision is the latest step in taking Google’s mobile data security to the next level. Not long ago, the company also made Google One VPN available for iOS devices and also introduced the option to have an always-on VPN on its latest smartphones.
Google promises that its secure VPN software will protect your phone from hackers on insecure networks, such as public Wi-Fi. It also hides your IP address so that third parties cannot track your location.
Shorter to a virtual private network, a VPN is exactly the tool you want to protect your sensitive data as it masks your real location and encrypts all your data in transit. In addition to privacy, it allows you to bypass geo-restrictions and other online blocks.
