Google has announced a slew of new AI-powered security tools to help organizations around the world stay protected against the latest threats.
The new Gemini in Security platform, announced today at Google Cloud Next 24, offers a number of new and expanded services that leverage AI to improve protection for businesses of all sizes.
The company says the use of AI will ensure security teams can quickly and effectively track, monitor and stop threats before they can cause damage, as well as increase their own effectiveness and learn to protect against possible future attacks.

Included in the new offering is Gemini in Security Operations, available May 2024, which uses natural language to explain key findings to security administrators and professionals in a new Supported Investigations feature.
Once a threat is detected, the platform can summarize event data, then recommend the next steps to take to contain or mitigate the threat, and guide users through the platform using easy-to-follow instructions and prompts.
Elsewhere, Gemini in Threat Intelligence opens up the vast library of knowledge collected by Google’s Mandiant frontline threat intelligence team, allowing users to use conversational search to quickly discover details about existing issues or threat actors. The tool can also increase the usability of threat research by providing automated web crawling for relevant open source intelligence (OSINT) articles, recording information and providing concise summaries to help security professionals fight back.
The launches coincide with Google Workspace’s release of a $10 per user per month security-focused add-on that includes new security tools to help IT teams automatically classify and protect sensitive files across an entire enterprise’s Google Drive platform. company.
