Three cars collided with each other about 12:45 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Magnolia Street in Orange County.
Two people were injured in the fatal crash and one person was killed. The driver of the Tesla was killed and the passenger was injured, PIO Sargent Nick Jensen of the Garden Grove Police Department told DailyMail.com.
The driver of the second car, a Lexus sedan, was seriously injured. There were no reports of injuries in the Nissan SUV, the third vehicle, he said. The cause of the fatal wreck was speeding and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, which is still under investigation, Jensen said.
“Evidence on site and the debris on the ground shows that the car was traveling well above the speed limit,” the PIO said.
