Ensuring your workplace presentations are top-notch will soon be easier than ever thanks to a welcome upgrade to both Google Meet and Zoom.
The two video conferencing giants have announced further interoperability between their platforms, allowing users to present content over a wired HDMI connection.
This means that users can not only present HDMI content into Zoom Meetings from Google Meet hardware devices, but also join Google Meet meetings from supported Zoom Rooms. This will hopefully reduce the risk of hardware issues and get you up and running quickly.

In a Google Workspace update blog postAccording to the company, this move will “make it even easier for our customers and their users to connect and collaborate with people outside the Meet ecosystem.”
Interoperability is enabled by default on Zoom and Google Meet devices, but administrators can disable it if desired via the Workspace Admin Console.
It is available to all Google Workspace customers with Chrome-based devices with Google Meet hardware and is rolling out now.
The launch is the latest in a series of improvements to Google Meet that should make the feature more engaging and interactive for users.
The platform recently announced that it would be bringing its second screen tool “Companion Mode” to the Meet app for Android and iOS devices, providing a quick way to join meetings without having to open a laptop, making the way users work and meet more flexible.
Users can also now switch from a call on a mobile device to a laptop (or vice versa) with a single click using the new “Switch here” feature. This should be incredibly useful for those on the go, for example if you’re heading into the office but are running late for a call, so you need to start it on your phone, before switching to your PC or laptop when you’re at your desk.
