Good Morning Britain host ‘grovels for his job’ after mortifying technical gaffe – admitting to ‘unplugging his microphone so he can go to the toilet’ on live ITV show
A Good Morning star was forced to ‘crawl for his job’ on Friday after making a terrible technical blunder live on the radio.
Andi Peters blushed when he had to admit that he had unplugged his microphone to go to the toilet, which left him unprepared for his participation in the competition.
As the camera switched to him presenting the latest award, the 54-year-old presenter pulled a shocked face as he pulled out his microphone and realised it was unplugged.
The camera cuts to Rob Rinder and Kate Garraway’s laughing audience, while Andi shouts in the background: ‘run the VT!’
After the clip, Andi returned to the recording, pretending to make a phone call to his boss and joking, “Seriously, don’t make me leave like that!”

Andi Peters was left red-faced when he had to admit that he had unplugged his microphone to go to the toilet, leaving him unprepared to take part in his competition event.
“I went to the bathroom, that’s why I pulled the plug! Okay, okay,” before abruptly hanging up.
The long-time presenter later apologised for his microphone being unplugged, but Kate Garraway couldn’t resist teasing him about his blunder.
The announcer mocked Andi, saying his actions were “unprofessional,” before jokingly insisting that she would never do something like that.
This came after Andi was surprised live on air last month when the show gifted him a special cake to celebrate his birthday.
But the TV presenter then shocked his co-stars by revealing he was turning 54, despite his ageless looks.
Andi appeared in the ITV studios to present his usual competition segment to viewers at home, in order to earn some money.
However, host Ranvir Singh interrupted him and said: ‘Normally, Andi, you would tell us a bit more about the competition, but we’ve been a bit quiet today because it’s a very special day… It’s your birthday today!’
Birthday music began to play and Ranvir danced along with co-host Ed Balls, before saying to Andi, “We have a special surprise for you. Will you tell me how old you are?”

The TV star replied: “I’m 54,” before repeating himself as Ranvir gasped in shock and said: “Yeah, but look at his face? 54!”
Andi repeated his age again, then smugly pointed to his youthful face and jokingly said, “I know, I know.”
Ranvir then expressed surprise and said: ‘We had a cake made of you doing what you do best: broadcasting from the beach!’
Weatherman Alex Beresford turned up with a huge layered cake covered in blue icing that looked like the sea, and with crumbs on the sides, like sand.

Andi cut his teeth in children’s television, starting with an appearance on the BBC’s iconic Broom Cupboard in 1989 (pictured in 2000)
On top of the cake was a palm tree with a small fondant figure of Andi lying on a lounge chair reading a GMB book.
As Alex handed it to Andi, he joked, “You know, it weighs as much as Andi’s biceps!”
An elated Andi said: “That’s an amazing cake!” And Alex added: “It smells delicious.”
Andi offered, “You can have a few. Do you eat carbs?” Alex pointed to Andi’s muscular body and replied, “You clearly don’t eat carbs!”
