Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur breaks his silence over ‘stalking’ incident following reports he’s ‘living in fear’

Larry Emdur has broken his silence on the fact that he is reportedly being stalked by an obsessed fan, after rumors emerged that he is “living in fear.”

The 59-year-old Morning Show host took to Instagram on Monday to criticize tabloids for publishing sensational headlines about the issue.

He assured his fans that he was “fine” and still “in the aftermath of Logies”, before adding that headlines claiming he and his family were “in danger” were “simply untrue”.

“I just wanted to sort something out quickly. There’s a lot of noise in the magazines about this,” Emdur said in the clip.

The Chase presenter then held up a magazine to show the column written about his alleged stalker, reporting that New South Wales police had deployed an AVO to protect Emdur.

“”Stalker alerted. Leave Larry alone!”” Emdur read. “This whole thing. It’s a big deal. “Larry Emdur, live in fear.” I just wanted to let you know I’m fine!

‘I feel more than fine. I’m still in a Logies afterglow and loving it! The Morning Show is going great, The Chase is going great, my whiskey is going great.

“Everything in my life is absolutely fantastic. So when you read something like, ‘Larry Emdur lives in fear! His family is in danger,’ that’s not true.”

He added: ‘It’s not what’s happening in my life… Anyway, thanks for your concern. I’m feeling absolutely 100 percent fine. It’s absolutely business as usual.’

The news comes just days after Ny Breaking Australia revealed the real reason why Emdur disappeared from The Morning Show after news of an alleged stalker emerged.

The Gold Logie winner was absent from his morning show on Wednesday morning after rumours emerged that Rodney Pearce, a man from Victoria, attempted to break into the Seven building.

However, network insiders have assured Ny Breaking Australia that Emdur was on a pre-arranged break from The Morning Show to film the next season of The Chase.

They said the tireless entertainer is still in good spirits and hopes he can “do his job” with as little distraction as possible.

New South Wales police were called to Seven’s Eveleigh headquarters at approximately 11.15am on August 22 after Rodney Pearce, from Victoria, allegedly attempted to force his way into the building.

“Officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command attended the scene and spoke to a 52-year-old man who had been escorted from the building by security,” New South Wales Police said.

Pearce was arrested and taken to hospital for a check-up before being taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with trespassing and possession of a prohibited drug.

Pearce appeared at Downing Centre Magistrates’ Court where he was granted conditional bail. He is due to appear again on September 5.

His conditions include that he is not allowed to enter Central Ave, the Haymarket suburb, or come within 200 metres of Channel Seven.

The 52-year-old must also report to Redfern police station every day.

Court records show that the AVO for Emdur’s protection will be called in court on September 16.

The arrest came just days after Emdur took home the top prize at the Logies 2024 on August 18.

After forty years on screen, the television personality finally won the Golden Logie and his first Silver Logie.
