Two men have been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman with a hammer, knife and multi-tool in a hotel.

Queensland ambulance crews responded to the alleged attack on a property on Laycock Street in Surfers Paradise around 1:45am on Friday.

It is alleged that the two men assaulted a woman known to them with the implements for more than 45 minutes.

Gold Coast police allege a 36-year-old man from Mareeba and a 40-year-old man from Surfer’s Paradise sliced ​​her leg with a knife and cut her hair with a multi-tool.

They fled before police and paramedics arrived, but were arrested a short time later at a Trickett Street unit.

The two men reportedly assaulted a well-known woman with a hammer for more than 45 minutes, slit her leg with a knife and tried to cut her hair with a multi-tool.

The woman was found to have a large laceration to her leg and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition.

Both men were each charged with torture, wounding, assault with bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

Both will appear before Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
