A young father who rammed into a Woolworths shopper with his trolley and punched him in the face for getting in his way will remain behind bars.
Zebuai Kane Pomare, 31, was sentenced to two years jail but could be released within weeks over the unprovoked attack of a stranger at a supermarket on the Gold Coast earlier this year.
The sickening incident at Australia Fair in Southport on January 5 was witnessed by shocked onlookers and captured on CCTV.
Footage played in court shows Pomare entering the supermarket and walking down an aisle before he suddenly rams his trolley into the legs of a male shopper when they cross paths.
He then punches the young victim in the face, who falls to the ground.

Pomare casually strolls away as if nothing happened as bystanders rush to help the victim, who suffered facial injuries and a deviated septum.
The father-of-three appeared in Southport Magistrates Court via videolink on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to a string of charges.
Magistrate Dzenita Balic described Pomare’s actions as unacceptable and that jail was the only appropriate punishment, Seven News reported.
‘You struck him in an unprovoked way, just because he was in your way,’ Magistrate Balic told him.
‘You didn’t care who was there. You simply struck him.’
The shocking CCTV of the father-of-three (wearing red slides) punching the young man for being in his way was played in court this week
The court also heard two months after the attack, Pomare clenched his fists, lunged towards and spat at two police officers while in custody.
‘You laughed and said, ‘gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, got ya dog c****’,’ Magistrate Balic said.
‘This is a significant episode of violence against two officers who have done absolutely nothing to you.’
Outside court, Pomare’s lawyer Atul Bhardwaj told reporters his client was apologetic and remorseful for his actions.
‘The magistrate made a decision about the penalties he should get and that’s all I can say,’ he said.
Pomare has already spent 171 days behind bars and could be eligible for parole as early as November 5.
