A Gold Coast councilor has been charged with murder following the death of his stepfather following a ‘breakdown’ at his home.
Police were called to a house on Chiffley Pl in Arundel just after 3pm on Wednesday due to reports of a ‘breakdown’.
Emergency services found Councilor Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden’s stepfather, 58, unconscious, 7News reported.
Bayldon-Lumsden, 30, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with murder, Queensland Police confirmed in a statement.
“He has since been charged with one murder and will appear before Southport Magistrates Court today, August 24,” police said.
