Gogglebox star Kate Bottley has shared the sad news that her mother, Margaret, has passed away after receiving some “scary” news about her health.
The reverend, 47, shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram page Monday night, just hours after confirming she was in hospital.
Kate shared photos of herself with her mother and paid tribute in a post, writing: “She really was a destroyer.” May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace and rise in glory.’

Kate received plenty of support in the comments section, with celebrities like Dawn French, Claudia Winkleman, and Dermot O’Leary sending their love.
He also received a message from Gogglebox alum Izzi Warner, who wrote: “Sending lots of love and strength your way.” [heart].’

Kate previously revealed that her mother had been in the hospital for several weeks after receiving some bad news about her health.
Last week, Kate shared a post that read: ‘She has to come home tomorrow. It has been complicated both emotionally and physically.
“She has been cared for by some of the best humans, many thanks to all the staff at Sheffield Hospital.”

Kate first told her followers that her mother was not well on Twitter, explaining in one thread: “Yesterday I did a funeral for a lady, 98, she died in her sleep, in her own bed, not particularly ill.” just old, a golden death if you will.
‘The cream staff and I agreed that we would all take that when our time comes.
“Due to the virus, his family couldn’t be there, but the technology means they were able to watch the service at home via a webcam. But they sent hymns and music and some beautiful words. His neighbors came. She was loved and remembered.
“It was, in many ways, a good death and a nice funeral. Without tragedy, without chaos or suffering, he was not too young and he had a good and full life. Not all funerals I do are like this, especially now.

But Kate continued: “No funeral is ‘easy,’ but some are definitely more difficult than others. When I have a tough funeral – suicide, a child, someone young or a violent death – I prepare differently than other funerals. I also I make sure my journal is clean afterwards.
But this funeral didn’t need me to do that. So I had forgotten to correctly assimilate that the deceased shared the same name as my mother. My mom, who recently received some scary health news and is facing some scary treatment.
‘So when I got to the ‘We commend Margaret, Lord, into your care’. Unexpectedly she caught me, my throat caught a bit and I wobbled ever so slightly.
‘This is not a problem, of course, and I’m fine. Nobody gives a wobble. Just humans huh? Such is sometimes this ministry. I never stop being me or being a daughter or a wife or a mother or whatever I make of Kate, Kate.

She continued: “By the way, every time I call my mom and she asks me what I’ve done today and I say ‘A funeral,’ she’s like, ‘Oh, love! I’m so sorry, are you okay?’ And I’m like, ‘ Mom, it’s been 12 years, do you understand that this is my job?’ God love her.
Kate rose to stardom thanks to her time at Gogglebox between 2014 and 2016 with her husband Graham, who she has been with since she was 18 years old.
She was approached to appear on the show after bosses saw a video of her in a wedding flashmob, which garnered more than seven million views.
Kate previously stressed that she wants people to know that it’s possible to be religious and have faith while having fun at the same time, which is why she signed up to appear on Gogglebox.
“My work with the media is part of my ministry, as I want to keep the door open for people,” Kate explained.

‘One of my favorite Bible passages is where Jesus says: ‘I have come that they may have life and have it in all its fullness.’ I am interested in that fullness of life.
Kate and her husband Graham left the Channel 4 show in 2016 and she has since moved into radio, presenting Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2.
She has also attended church services online around the world, from New York to the Vatican, adding that as a self-sufficient minister, she does not have a regular Sunday service, but covers other vicars and helps with weddings or funerals.
