Gogglebox Australia stars Isabelle Silbery and her mother Kerry shared the heartbreak of telling Grandma Emmie she couldn’t appear on the show anymore.

Isabelle, 34, and her mum spoke to The Project host Sarah Harris on Tuesday night, weeks after announcing that Emmie would not be returning to Gogglebox due to her diagnosis.

Kerry said the “hardest part” of Emmie’s diagnosis was having to tell her mother, who was transferred to a senior care facility, that she would no longer appear on Gogglebox.

“She said why not, and we told her you have dementia and she said I’m perfectly fine, there’s nothing wrong with me, I’m not ga-ga,” Kerry explained.

‘This is the real life. Emmie can’t do the show anymore, and we wanted to be very transparent about it and for her not to disappear off the couch,” Isabelle added.

The couple insisted that they would keep the ornate red chair that Emmie sat in on the show, in honor of her.
