Gmail down – outage hitting thousands of users worldwide

An interesting side note – in the UK at least, the mystery issue seems to be affecting several other Google platforms as well.

DownDetector UK is showing spikes in reports of issues with Google Drive, Google Nest and Google’s own homepage.

Users continue to report Gmail outages on DownDetector in both the UK and US, with reports crossing the 10,000 mark.

There’s no official confirmation or response from Google yet, but we’ll keep an eye on the social media pages for any updates…

The dreaded red X on the Google Workspace status dashboard (opens in new tab) confirms that there is indeed something wrong with Gmail.

That’s quite a spike in users reporting Gmail issues…

The Gmail outage occurred around 1pm GMT / 8am ET – so when many users in the US were potentially logging in for work.

Outage tracker site DownDetector reported a huge spike in Gmail reports from users in the UK and US.
