GMA host Robin Roberts marries her partner of 18 years Amber Laign in stunning backyard ceremony – as former friends Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are banned after their affair scandal

Good Morning America’s host Robin Roberts tied the knot with her longtime partner Amber Laign on Friday with a fun weekend reception.

The two radiant brides were married in their backyard in Connecticut, with Roberts’ children’s pastor officiating the ceremony.

Two of Roberts’ former colleagues, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, did not attend and were reportedly not invited to the wedding after their scandalous affair, reported The American sun.

The newlyweds’ star-studded guest list included TV personalities such as Al Roker, Erielle Reshef, Lara Spencer and Dr. Jen Ashton. Sam Champion, meteorologist and co-star of Roberts, celebrated the couple with his husband Rubem Robierb.

Kimberley Godwin, Dr. Whitney Bowe, Whit Johnson, Deborah Roberts, Rebecca Jarvis and Ben Aaron also attended the enchanted night.

Both Robin Roberts and Amber Laign had their hair up and headed to the reception in Farmington Gardens as the song Can You Feel The Love Tonight played at their wedding reception this weekend.

The couple’s Tibetan Spaniel Papillon mix, LuKas, was also in attendance wearing a black and white bow tie.

LuKas even shared a dapper photo of himself on his personal Instagram account, saying, “My mommies are MARRIED! Married?…..yes…..married!!!!!’

The couple looked beautiful as they glowed along a trail of softly colored flowers: Roberts holding a bouquet and Laign just smiling as she looked at her new wife.

Each bride wore beautiful white dresses custom made by designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka.

Laign had a scoop neckline with a large train at the back, while Roberts had a high neckline with beading on the collar and a slight button train down her spine.

Both Roberts and Laign had their hair up and headed to the reception in Farmington Gardens as the song Can You Feel The Love Tonight was played on the violin by Caroline Campbell.

Roberts took to Instagram on Sunday morning and posted two photos of her and Laign beaming at each other.

She captioned the post with, “An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyful reception…ohhhh the dancing!! We are extremely grateful to everyone for making it an unforgettable day and night.’

Roberts, 62, and Laign, 48, have been together for 18 years after meeting on a blind date, but only made their relationship official in 2013.

She then took group photos with Today Show co-host Al Roker, along with reporters Kimberly Godwin and Sam Champion.

As the lights dimmed and the music grew louder, Zee got a memorable image of the bride and groom dancing as Roberts pointed to her shiny ring finger.

Zee wrote, “The joy was palpable,” and tagged both women.

In 2007, the couple faced what seemed to be an insurmountable obstacle when Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Through it all, Laign stayed right by her partner’s side and found a new name for herself that Roberts gave her: “Sweet Amber.”

Roberts said, “It’s just the look of her. She’s so nice. She’s just really nice, and it’s so genuine, you know?’ Roberts told ABC News.

Laign was also diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and Roberts was there through it all.

Two of her former colleagues, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, did not attend and were reportedly not invited to the wedding. Robach and Holmes were fired from GMA in 2023 after their romantic relationship came to light.

Robach and Holmes were married at the time of their relationship and recently reunited by sharing an Instagram post nine months after disappearing from the spotlight.

“Amy and TJ aren’t invited, and Amy is furious about it. She and Robin were much more than colleagues, they shared a deep friendship,” a source told the outlet.

The source also revealed that Roberts “has a very close and trusted circle of friends, and her guest list will include people she really wants there.”
