Orange, are you angry, can’t you find a solution? Well, hundreds of TiKTok users certainly are after an eagle-eyed man came across an unsolvable optical illusion and declared it could be a glitch in the Matrix.
The now viral video, uploaded by the US-based content creator Eddieshows the reflection of a bright orange Corvette C8 in a shop window, but it does not appear to be in the parking lot.
He zoomed in on the window of the pizzeria in Fresno, California, where the striking vehicle is clearly visible.
But when he zooms out to show the parking lot where the Corvette should be, there is no longer an orange car in the parking lot.
“Can someone explain?” Eddie captioned the clip, which has since been viewed more than 2.3 million times.
In a video uploaded by TikTok user Eddie on June 3, the now-viral video shows the bright orange reflection of the Corvette C8 in a store window – which does not appear to be in the parking lot.
Just to be sure, Eddie looked around the mostly empty parking lot, where there was absolutely not an orange car in sight.
‘Where is this car?’ he asked in the clip. “I really don’t see that car anywhere.”
Millions of TikTok users were stunned – and panicked – by the apparent optical illusion.
“Parallel dimensions,” one user stated.
“That’s the portal, on the other side,” agreed another.
Others swear they’ve cracked the code and post their theories in the comments of the video.
Many viewers claimed they could see the top of the orange car through the windshield of the Mercedes SUV, indicating the Corvette was parked in front of it.
“Just in front of the black SUV you can see the orange roof through the windshield,” someone stated.
‘Based on line of sight. It’s behind that Mercedes,” another user agreed.
‘In the reflection you see a bush in the background of the C8. If you turn to the left you can see the bush, but the C8 is on the other side of the property.’
Millions of TikTok users were stunned – and panicked – by the apparent optical illusion
“It’s behind the bush by the coffee shop/bus stop and you look further back,” someone else commented.
“It’s reflective in a way. Cool optical illusion!’
Eddie later uploaded another clip from the same parking lot to prove the car wasn’t in the pizzeria or on display.
Since it was a different time of day, the interior of the pizzeria can be seen, as well as the cars parked in front of the store.
“There’s no car here,” he confirmed as he filmed the store.
The phrase “glitch in the Matrix” comes from the 1999 film The Matrix, starring Keneu Reeves, which presented the idea of humanity living in a giant simulation.
It is now used to describe inexplicable illusions or events that seem illogical.
Last year, a woman went viral on TikTok after posting a video of her chickens stopping mid-run for more than two minutes.
In the clip, user Brianna Antionette showed herself feeding at least five hungry chickens, which sprinted away within seconds of the clip.
The birds suddenly stopped running at the same time and stayed in place near a shiny green light, despite Antionette’s attempts to get them moving.
“Have you ever seen a glitch in the Matrix,” she captioned the video.
