Glen Powell casually dismisses the comparison with Ryan Gosling.
The Wrap reported that an anonymous Hollywood producer said the following about the 35-year-old Anyone But You star: “Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling, who primarily appeals to a female audience, Glen appeals to both women and men.”
Powell re-shared the quote on the social media platform Xand added his opinion.
He replied, “Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glen,” referring to Gosling’s 2023 Barbie ballad, I’m Just Ken.
In addition to the contrast with Ryan, the producer also said, “Glen Powell is definitely an emerging movie star in the sense that audiences are going to the movies to see him these days.”

That comes after Glen’s wild transformation for the new satirical series Chad Powers caused a stir among fans last week, with some mistaking him for Tom Cruise.
Hulu released an official photo of the actor in the upcoming comedy show, a day after DailyMail.com gave a sneak peek of the unrecognizable star on set.
A joint post with Glen, ESPN, Hulu and Omaha Productions included the caption, “Think fast, run fast. Glen Powell is #ChadPowers in Hulu’s new comedy series.”
Powell is co-creator of the upcoming half-hour comedy series with Michael Waldron.
The program was inspired by an ESPN+ sketch by former football star Eli Manning, 43, who will executive produce the show with Glen and Michael.
The recent social media post also featured the original sketch, starring Eli as Powers.
The comedy’s official synopsis reads: “When bad behavior destroys the college career of successful QB Russ Holliday, he disguises himself and joins a struggling Southern football team as the talented, suave Chad Powers.”
Glen was spotted on set this month wearing a messy blonde wig and a large prosthetic nose.
He also sported a mustache when filming began in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Hollywood hunk disguised his appearance by wearing a blue Nike short-sleeved sports shirt, an armband and yellow shorts.
