Glen Powell appeared on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast to tell a story about a shocking and disturbing first date.
According to the Hit Man star, a friend of his younger sister was on a first date when the man she met invited her to his house and then gave her a massage, eventually leading to the terrifying discovery that he was allegedly a serial killer. murderer and cannibal.
But while many of Powell’s fans were shocked to hear the story, others wondered if it was just a tall tale, or if perhaps Powell had fallen victim to a game of telephone.
‘Do you want to hear a crazy story? My sister was friends with a girl who went on a date with a guy. They’re hanging out. He’s super charming,” Powell began, pausing so he could check the story with his sister.
“They had a great night, and she goes back to his apartment that night and he says, ‘Hey, can I give you a massage?'” The Top Gun: Maverick star — whose parents met him on the red carpet at Hit Man trolled – continued.

A friend of his younger sister was reportedly on a date when the man invited her to his home and gave her a massage, which eventually led to her discovering that he was a cannibal.
When she got back to his apartment, she started having strange feelings. She says, “Something doesn’t feel right.”
Nevertheless, she agreed to the massage, but she kept getting strange feelings.
“So he starts massaging her shoulders,” he claimed. ‘Everything just feels strange. She says, “I have to get out of here.” It’s a little weird, he’s like, “No, no. Please don’t leave. I’m sorry.” She leaves.’
The Hit Man star went on to explain that his sister’s boyfriend’s skin “started itching like crazy” the next day, so she went to the doctor.
The doctor ran a test and discovered that the lotion her date had used on her came from the black market.
“He’s doing a test on her skin,” Powell said. “It turns out to be a black market lotion that breaks down the skin for human consumption.”
Shane gasped in genuine shock as Powell continued, “This man rubbed lotion on her body to eat her.”
But that wasn’t all. The doctor reportedly urged the women to reveal the man’s identity and location.
“The doctor said, ‘I need you to give me this person’s address and then you need to call the police,’” Powell claimed. “They go to this guy’s house, and he had several bodies of girls in the house.”
Fans went wild after a clip of the interview was shared on X, formerly Twitter.

The Top Gun: Maverick star said the woman went back to the man’s house and accepted his offer for a massage, but she left in a hurry after he started because ‘something’ [felt] out’
The next day, her skin was reportedly itching like crazy, so she went to a doctor, who told her that the lotion used for the massage was a black market substance to break down “skin for human consumption.”
“This man rubbed lotion on her body to eat her,” Powell alleged, before saying the doctor prompted the woman to give up the man’s location.
Powell claimed that police “found the bodies of several girls in the house.” But some skeptical fans wondered if the actor was lying, or if he might have been tricked by an urban legend or if he had mixed the story into the plot of the 2022 horror-comedy Fresh.
“My god, I couldn’t have expected how that story ended, like, ‘What do you mean a lotion that breaks down bodies for human consumption,’” one person wrote.
Still others were skeptical, bringing up an old Snopes story and the 2022 film Fresh starring Powell’s Twister co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
Fresh follows a woman who goes on a weekend getaway with a man, who she later discovers is a cannibal.
“Why this story reminds me of this movie…,” one fan wrote, sharing a photo of the Fresh movie poster.
