Glen Huntley alleged kidnapping: Second teen charged
- Second teen charged
- Schoolboy suspected of being kidnapped
A second teenager has been charged after a Melbourne schoolboy was seriously injured following an alleged kidnapping.
A teenager was allegedly forced into a gray Volkswagen Tiguan moments after stepping out of the school gates in Glen Huntly in the city’s south-east on Monday afternoon.
A short time later, the 14-year-old was thrown from the moving vehicle ‘under unknown circumstances’ and taken to hospital with life-changing injuries after allegedly being hit by the car.
On Sunday, Victoria Police announced that a second teenage boy had been charged following the alleged incident.
“Detectives have charged another teenager in connection with an armed robbery in Glen Huntly earlier this week,” a police spokesman said.
“The investigation is still ongoing.”

The boy, a 15-year-old, was arrested on Saturday afternoon and brought before the juvenile court later the same day, charged with offenses including armed robbery, conduct endangering life and theft of a motor vehicle.
The arrest comes after a 14-year-old boy, who is alleged to have been the ‘main perpetrator’, was charged with the same crimes on Thursday.
The same day, Victoria Police Inspector Scott Dwyer warned that further arrests were ‘imminent’.
“We have identified all those individuals we believe are responsible for the attack and their arrest is imminent,” he said.
Inspector Dwyer said on 3AW that two more boys from the same school have since come forward, claiming they were also kidnapped on the same day.
“The problem is that we live in a very safe city and when these types of incidents are reported it is rightly shocking,” he said.

“But like all crime there will be a response.”
The complainant remained in a serious condition in a coma at the Royal Children’s Hospital on Friday.
Both charged teenage boys have been taken into custody ahead of future court hearings.
