A popular Sydney weekend market will suddenly close for “personal reasons”.

The Glebe Markets, in Sydney’s inner west, have been open since 1992, but will now close on February 25.

The stall owners were informed about the closure by the managers of the much-loved markets in an email.

Furious merchants say the move caught them by surprise.

“It’s put me and a lot of people in a bit of a panic,” longtime Joseph Stellino said. ABC Radio Sydney.
