Manchester United and England great Sir Bobby Charlton died last month at the age of 86
It is understood the Glazers made the decision to avoid abuse from supporters overshadowing the ceremony.
They want Chalrton to be the center of the headlines and not themselves, but it will undoubtedly be a move that will itself attract criticism.
The Glazers knew Charlton well as the icon was the club’s director and was a regular at Old Trafford until his diagnosis three years ago.
If there is a last minute change of heart, it will be Joel Glazer representing the family at the service.”
