The Glazer family has pushed back the deadline for a potential Manchester United sale until the start of the transfer window in June.
United’s owners initially aimed to complete a sale before the end of April.
However, as reported by The Telegraphif the Glazers are going to cash in on the club, June is seen as a more realistic time frame.
The Glazers want at least £6bn if they want to sell the club, but current offers from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe fall short of that valuation.
On Thursday, Elliot Management officials met Thursday with Raine, the commercial bank leading the process. Rothschild, the Glazers’ financial advisers, also attended.
In addition, Elliot’s representatives watched United win over Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday at Old Trafford.

Next week, Sheikh Jassim’s bid and Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group will attend detailed presentations at Old Trafford.
Although only the aforementioned two parties have made their offers public so far, there are at least two other parties that are interested in buying United.

However, former United defender Gary Neville fears the Glazers are using Elliott to maintain control or increase the price of a sale.
Responding to a tweet from Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Neville said: ‘No! It sounds like it’s a move by Joel and Avi Glazer to “stay in control” or “force out the other bidders.” Go to your website. They don’t own Manchester United!’
