Glastonbury fans say Cyndi Lauper, 71, ‘was really let down’ as singer suffers ‘awful’ sound problems during her set: ‘I felt so bad for her!’
Cyndi Lauper’s performance at Glastonbury was widely criticized on Saturday after major sound problems disrupted the set.
Festivalgoers could barely hear the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun singer’s vocals as her voice was drowned out by the rumbling bass.
After a few songs, Cyndi, 71, sang Rocking Chair. She seemed to have trouble with her pitch and timing.
The sound problems seemed to be resolved by the time she reached her hit I Drove All Night.
But Cyndi faltered again with her 1984 song Time After Time, as she lagged behind the band – indicating she was having problems with her in-ear monitors.

The singer looked over to the production team members next to the Pyramid stage as she performed her show for the audience.
The crowd came to the rescue and lifted Cyndi up as she sang along to her mega hits True Colors and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
Despite the problems, Cyndi, who has more than 40 years of stage experience, was a true professional.
Some fans took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to complain about the “terrible sound problems” during the Legends set.
“Terrible sound problems for Cyndi Lauper. I really felt for her.”
“I felt so bad for #CyndiLauper – I could tell she was moving on from the sound issues.”

Cyndi looked fantastic during the afternoon performance as she wore a silver corset with matching trousers and a pleated blue long coat.
Speaking to the audience, which stretched to the back of the Pyramid Stage field, she asked, “How are you?” I see you. I love you. You are everywhere’.
She opened her set with ’80s song ‘R’ Good Enough by The Goonies and later picked up a recorder to play along to 2008 single ‘The Nightlife’.
But the American singer also used her stage time to make a passionate plea for women’s rights.
She said: ‘It’s time for world leaders to realise that women make up half the world’s population and we deserve to be treated equally.’
At the end of her performance she thanked the audience and said, “Happy party, kids.”
