A bikini model and actor who briefly starred in the hit horror film Wolf Creek is facing serious child sexual abuse charges after her arrest for allegedly sexually abusing a teenage boy.
Megan Skye Blancada, a young mother and model, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Monday charged with sexual abuse of a boy under 16 and possession of child exploitation material.
Police alleged her offending took place between July 30, 2021 and November 6, 2023, in far north Adelaide, court documents show.
Megan Skye Blancada appeared in court in Adelaide on Monday, where her lawyer said she would plead guilty to a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse
In online profiles, Ms. Blancada, 34, advertises herself as a fitness model and promotes her roles in films such as Hey Hey Its Esther and Wolf Creek.
In an August 30, 2023, post, she showed off a Jadore dress, writing, “While attending a red carpet event in Sydney, she definitely needed a dress from @dressforanight and she didn’t disappoint.”
Ms Blancada claims to have modeled for Mitsubishi and Bank SA and is the author of a novel called Shadow Hunters: Shadows in the Wall.
In her online profile, the Adelaide-born model also says she “likes to keep her private life to herself while maintaining a low profile.”
Ms Blancada refused to make a statement outside court
Lawyer Andrew Graham, who represented Ms Blancada, told Magistrate Simon Smart that his client would offer a guilty plea to the prosecutor.
“My client will plead guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse and two counts of indecent assault,” he said.
Police charged Ms Blancada with knowingly possessing child exploitation material after confiscating her phone following her arrest in November.
Negotiations between the defense and the prosecution are continuing and Mr Smart has postponed Ms Blancada’s case until May 1 due to the charges.
Ms. Blancada was dressed in a pressed white shirt and black pants for her appearance, with wavy blonde hair.
She refused to make a statement after leaving the court.
Ms Blancada will return to court in May to answer the charges against her.
