She was also taken to hospital. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the collision.

The Malibu Times reports that speed and/or alcohol use are possible causes of the incident.

Wheaton describes herself as a wellness advocate on her Instagram, where she has more than 100,000 followers.

She is the founder of two start-ups, including a non-profit organization focused on self-reliance.

On Tuesday, Wheaton deleted her social media accounts and appeared to have deactivated her website.

Wheaton attended the splashy “Red, White and Bootsy” party on July 4, along with Mike Tyson, Blake Griffin and Jamie Foxx, among others.

Guests enjoyed performances from Tyga and Wiz Khalifa, as well as Foxx.

The party went ahead despite a dispute with city officials, who refused to grant a temporary use permit because the location did not meet traffic and safety requirements.

The event went ahead anyway and is now being treated as a breach of the code.

The deadly crash comes as Malibu residents campaign for better safety measures along the notoriously dangerous stretch of road.

One of the incidents was a fatal accident that killed four Pepperdine University students in October.

They have been added to the list of more than 60 people who have died along the highway since 2010.
