Glamorous WAG who was warned about moving to ‘boring’ Aussie city to be with her footy star boyfriend leaves him after just seven months because she can’t stand living there

  • Chelsea Becirevic moved interstate to follow the AFL star
  • Told her 66,000 followers about the switch last November
  • Already fed up with the city after seven months

Footy’s hottest new WAG Chelsea Becirevic has left the country and her footy star boyfriend because she can’t bear to live in Adelaide after moving there to be with him just seven months ago.

The marketer and influencer told more than 65,000 social media followers she was “excited for change” when she followed her husband Ivan Soldo to the City of Churches last November when he was traded from Richmond to Port Adelaide.

However, she proved that the novelty of living in ‘Radelaide’ has well and truly worn off in an Instagram post on Thursday in which she announced that she is moving to Dubai to start a new life with an airline.

Responding to questions from her followers, the 23-year-old said she ‘always wanted to work for Emirates, live in Dubai and travel the world. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do’.

Chelsea Becirevic wasn’t 100 per cent sure how she would cope with life in Adelaide when she moved there with her football star boyfriend last November.

When asked if she was taking anyone with her, Becirevic replied: ‘I’m doing this solo. I’ve never moved anywhere alone, so it will be good to gain some independence.

‘I’ve always wanted to move abroad, so I think it will be an exciting new chapter for me.’

While she insisted she and Soldo have no issues, she did reveal: “He had to move to Adelaide for his career and it has been a struggle for me.

‘It [living in Adelaide] just isn’t permanent for me,” she added, followed by a black heart emoji.

‘It’s fine temporarily. But in the long run I think Melbourne or Gold Coast are for me… maybe even Syd.”

When a follower inquired about how Soldo was taking the news, Becirevic showed her sense of humor by posting a photo of him looking at the corner of an elevator with his hands at his sides, accompanied by the words “surprisingly he’s taking it very well ‘.

She also wrote that they plan to continue their relationship “long distance” for a while and have him travel with her during the offseason, but also admitted that they will struggle with his inability to visit her before Port’s campaign ends later this year. .

Becirevic’s concerns about Adelaide were foreshadowed when the biomedical sciences student first announced the move last November, shortly after turning heads and declaring herself one of Australia’s most popular WAGs when she and Soldo won the best and fairest awards of Richmond attended.

‘Tb [to be honest] I can’t say I ever thought I would ever move to Adelaide,” she wrote.

‘I’ve never been to Adelaide before, so I really have no idea what to expect… and I’m hearing so many mixed reviews.

‘It’s not forever, but who knows, maybe one day I’ll love it again. Excited for a new chapter and meeting new people.”

When the couple met two years ago, she ruled out a long-distance relationship, insisting it was ‘not an option’.

“I know how much I would hate it and struggle with it, so I’m just going to embrace it,” she wrote.

Becirevic’s move to South Australia was the subject of a turf war between two high-profile newspaper columnists last October.

Melbourne-based Jackie Epstein questioned whether she could settle for the capital’s “low-energy lifestyle”, while Adelaide-based Kara Jung hit back by accusing her rival of writing a “little joke” and opposing the town’s residents said they ‘rolled their eyes and smiled at the poor misconception’.
