Gladys Berejiklian holds hands with her lawyer boyfriend during an early morning walk as John Barilaro parties the night away with his partner at the Ministry of Sound event at Sydney’s Rocks

Five weeks after being found ‘seriously corrupt’, former NSW Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian had a beam on her face during a morning walk with her partner Arthur Moses.

Her former Deputy Prime Minister John Barilaro has also been photographed with his partner, Jennifer Lugsdin, but arriving at a music concert, not an early morning walk.

The sighting of a relieved-looking Ms. Berejiklian and Mr. Barilaro comes after the pair put their careers in politics behind them.

Ms Berejiklian was found guilty of corrupt conduct in June by the Independent Commission against Corruption.

The watchdog made the findings nearly two years after Ms Berejiklian stepped down as NSW prime minister.

Corrupt findings were also made against her ex-lover and former Liberal MP for Wagga Wagga Daryl Maguire.

ICAC said that “Ms. Berejiklian has engaged in grossly corrupt conduct by violating public trust in 2016 and 2017 by exercising her official functions in relation to funding promised and/or awarded.”

After leaving politics in 2021, Mr. Barilaro had to resign from an elite $500,000 job in New York before he even started talking about public backlash.

He made headlines again after being accused of a scuffle with a freelance cameraman on Sydney’s Northern Beaches outside a Manly restaurant in July 2022.

A magistrate dismissed the assault charge against the former NSW deputy premier in February on grounds of mental health.

The case was due to be heard in September, but Mr Barilaro’s lawyer, Danny Eid, applied to the local court of the Downing Center in Sydney for his charge to be settled on grounds of mental health.

Magistrate Susan Horan granted the request after “convincing” evidence was presented to the court, including reports from Mr Barilaro’s treating clinicians.

Mr. Barilaro was instructed to continue to visit his clinicians routinely for three months and then at reasonable intervals at their direction, under the one-year assignment.

Neither Ms. Berejiklian nor Mr. Barilaro let their worries get in the way of exercising over the weekend – a brisk walk for Ms. Berejiklian and dancing all night for Mr. Barilaro.

While keeping fit with a walk had long been a favorite pastime of the former prime minister and her lawyer boyfriend, her former sheriff’s deputy’s love of techno, trance and house music had previously gone unheralded.

Mr. Moses wore blue sneakers, black shorts that showed off his athletic legs and a dark blue top with the logo of his beloved rugby team Parramatta Eels.

In addition to his dedication to his legal work – for which he served as President of both the NSW Bar Association and the Law Council of Australia – Mr. Moses a fitness fanatic.

“He is very keen on personal fitness, he is extremely fit and runs up to 10k most days,” a source told Daily Mail Australia when his relationship with Ms Berejiklian first became public in June 2021.

Mr Barilaro and Ms Lugsdin also dressed appropriately for the occasion as they went to party at the Ministry of Sound in Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal on Saturday night.

Sporting a snazzy new haircut, the former National Party leader wore a black jacket over a plain white T-shirt, black jeans and white sneakers.

Mrs. Lugsdin wore a stylish three-button white jacket with fur trim around the neck, cuffs and hips, a black miniskirt and black high-heeled shoes with brown soles.

Entertainment offerings included Phil Hartnoll of iconic British acid-house-meets-trance duo Orbital, Detroit techno pioneers Inner City, and Australian DJs such as Groove Terminator and Mark Dynamix.

Last year, Mr Barilaro faced a parliamentary inquiry into how he landed a $500,000 taxpayer-funded trading job in New York after he stepped down as deputy prime minister.

Mr. Barilaro was appointed as the state’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for the Americas, but relinquished his position less than weeks after his appointment.

The investigation found that his appointment had “all the hallmarks of a ‘job for the boys’.”

“The investigation revealed how a preferred candidate was selected and offered the STIC to the US position only to be thrown out under the guise of a nonsensical change in government policy,” said Green MP and committee chair Cate Faehrmann.

Mr. Barilaro denied any wrongdoing during the investigation.

“There is no evidence in this hearing to indicate that I sought, solicited, pressured officials in any way. No. Zero,” he said.

“You heard from apolitical officials that I was capable, and a credible candidate, that I would be good at the job.”
