Gladiators’ Jet “was secretly engaged to a woman before marrying Zoe Gilbert, despite the union with his wife being the first all-female relationship”
Gladiators star Jet was reportedly engaged to another woman before marrying wife Zoe Gilbert, despite Zoe being her first female partner.
Lisa Nottingham claims she was about to marry 1990s pin-up Jet, real name Diane Youdale, after Diane proposed a year into their 18-month relationship, which Lisa says ended February last year.
Jet came out last month at age 53 by announcing she was with a woman she met at her local supermarket.
The 1990s sex symbol, real name Diane Youdale, featured her wife-to-be Zoe on a podcast hosted by former American Gladiator “Ice.”
But despite Jet seemingly keeping her union with Lisa under wraps, Lisa insists there is no grudge between the pair.

told Lisa The sun: ‘I’m not jealous. I’m happy for her and I’m in a new relationship – we’ve moved on.
“But I don’t understand why she felt the need to say that Zoe was her first female relationship.”
Lisa met Diane, who now works as a physiotherapist, while out for a walk in the woods, but she said their relationship “just got out of hand” in the end.
Diane married Zoe last month, and a friend told the newspaper, “Because she and Zoe got married, she considers this relationship her first with a woman, because it’s gone the distance.”
MailOnline has reached out to a representative for Diane for comment.
Jet married her partner Zoe in a secret ceremony last month after the pair met in a supermarket.
She said Closer magazine that the couple had an intimate ceremony in front of just six friends and family.
The TV star, real name Diane Youdale, told the publication, “We got married! We kept it very quiet. Literally nine people on the planet knew it. We wanted to keep it very small.’

She said she stuck to her own style rules, telling the publication, “It was casual, I wasn’t wearing a dress. I wore a nice boho style top, pants and a nice pair of sandals.
Zoë wore her chinos, brogues and a nice shirt with a waistcoat. She looked so smart, I cried a lot.’
The pair kept it low-key by enjoying a mini-moon in Northumbria and now they plan to travel across the country to celebrate their happy news with their friends, including some of Jet’s former Gladiator co-stars.
The star only recently came out publicly by announcing she was engaged to Zoe on a podcast hosted by former American Gladiator ‘Ice’ earlier this month.
Ice, real name Lori Fetrick, who is gay himself, asked the former pin-up “if your country knew about this,” referring to her sexuality and new relationship.
Appears on the Chilling With Ice Cream podcast Jet replied: ‘Probably not and I don’t care, we are what we are, it doesn’t matter, I don’t care… I’m safe and I’m loved and there’s no threat to me anymore, and that’s what the world means to me.’
She has said she met Zoe, 48, in a supermarket – with Zoe introducing herself while she was shopping.
Zoe said to Jet, “I think you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen,” causing Jet’s knees to almost give way under her.
Past love: Jet had previously been in a relationship with former Gladiators co-star Hunter, real name James Crossley, but they broke up when Jet quit the show after only a year of dating (pictured together during the show left, while right, decades later )
They then went on a date to a gastropub and Jet has said she was impressed with Zoe’s sense of humour.
She even said that Zoe has mentioned that she liked Jet when she used to be on Gladiators.
Although Jet has had relationships with men in the past, she said she has “never felt tied down to any sexual identity.”
She said, “I’ve always been very relaxed about my sexuality, whether I was aware of it or not.”
Jet was previously in a relationship with former Gladiators co-star Hunter, real name James Crossley, but they broke up after a year together when she quit the show.
After their split, Hunter had a high-profile romance with Gladiators host Ulrika Jonsson, and Diane admitted that she felt like the “cougar” when she was with him due to their two-year age difference.
She added, “I think he was 19 and I was about 21. I mean I’m a cougar at 21 but we’ve remained good friends ever since and it was after I left the show that I think that he came together with Ulrika.’
Despite their split, Jet and Hunter have remained on friendly terms as she shared a sweet post on social media after his appearance on The Circle in 2021.
Wow! Diane Youdale, known by her stage name Jet, starred in the popular 1990s TV show Gladiators
After she and Hunter split, Diane married TV executive George Mayhew.
Posters of Jet posing in Lycra were plastered on bedroom walls across the country following her stint with Gladiators from 1992 to 1996.
But despite becoming an overnight sex symbol thanks to her stunning athletic figure, she struggled when it came to dating men.
Speaking on Chillin With Ice earlier this month, Diane admitted she had “postponed relationships for life” after moving to the north of England for a partner, but things turned out badly.
When asked if she was in a happy place now, she said, “I am, I am, it’s taken me a long time to get there, I won’t lie.”
“I could cry, but I won’t. Unfortunately I left the South of England and moved to the North West of England for something that wasn’t what it seemed, and I ended up being very hurt.”
The star said there was “a lot of police” involved in what was “domestic violence.”
She added, “It was horrible, really horrible, and it put me off relationships and everything for life.”
But Jet later beamed as she gushed about Zoe before introducing her on camera.

The former athlete said: ‘A little over a year ago a beautiful lady approached me at my local supermarket. And a little over a year later we’re getting married.”
Lori, 60, who herself came out in 2008, said: “Today people are so accepting of everyone and it doesn’t matter who you are because what matters is who you are as a person.”
She added, “It shouldn’t matter who your partner is.”
Diane now works as a psychotherapist and spends her time between North East England and Surrey.
Diane began a career in gymnastics and dance before rising to fame in Gladiators, but was later forced into presenting and acting after injuring her neck during the show’s live event at Wembley Arena in 1996.
