Gisele Bündchen paid tribute to her late mother Vânia Nonnenmacher in an emotional post on social media on Tuesday.

The supermodel, 43, lost her 75-year-old mother this weekend after a battle with cancer.

In memory of the matriarch of the family, the Brazilian beauty wrote a letter to the woman who raised her and her five sisters.

“Beloved mother,” she wrote, “it hurts to know that I will no longer be able to hug you, but I know that you will always watch over us.”

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Gisele indicated that she and her ex-husband Tom Brady, 46, have different parenting approaches, a point that occasionally causes tension with her own children.
