Gisele Bundchen pays an emotional tribute to her mother Vania who died from cancer at 75: ‘Your love will always guide us’
Gisele Bündchen paid tribute to her late mother Vânia Nonnenmacher in an emotional post on social media on Tuesday.
The supermodel, 43, lost her 75-year-old mother this weekend after a battle with cancer.
In memory of the matriarch of the family, the Brazilian beauty wrote a letter to the woman who raised her and her five sisters.
“Beloved mother,” she wrote, “it hurts to know that I will no longer be able to hug you, but I know that you will always watch over us.”
The cover model posted a family photo of her mother and father Valdir Bündchen, 72, surrounded by Gisele and her sisters Patricia, Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela and Raquel, and another showing them during their childhood.

“You were an angel on earth and always helped everyone around you,” she said of the loving mother and retired bank teller.
“I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you.”

The runway veteran appears to have shared the lessons she learned from her devoted mother while raising her own children, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.
She captured an adorable photo of both children giving their grandmother a kiss on the cheek.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Gisele indicated that she and her ex-husband Tom Brady, 46, have different parenting approaches, a point that occasionally causes tension with her own children.
“Sometimes I get resistance, especially because they are now in two different houses and there are two different ways,” the model explained.
“But I feel like I owe it to my children because of what my mother taught me.”
