Gisele Bundchen defends ex-husband Tom Brady’s performance in their last NFL game, claiming the legendary quarterback “had no offensive line” in the Buccaneers’ 31-14 playoff loss to the Cowboys.
The Jan. 17 loss closed the curtain on the career of Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, at the age of 45.
speaking to vanity fair, Bundchen said: ‘It was hard, but you know what? Let’s be honest. It is a team sport and you cannot play alone.
“I think he did very well in the circumstances he had. I mean, he didn’t have an offensive line,” he added, referring to the Buccaneers’ injuries to their front five.
Brady was sacked twice and threw an interception in a loss to Dallas, but completed 35 passes for 351 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Bundchen opened up about her recent divorce in the April issue of Vanity Fair.
The loss caused speculation to intensify whether Brady would retire.
When the announcement finally came, she left a comment on her Instagram video that read, “I wish you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life.”
Brady and Bundchen divorced after 13 years of marriage last October, during football season, amid constant suggestions that the Brazilian supermodel was unhappy with her ‘retirement’ last year.
In his statement, Brady, 45, said it had been a ‘difficult’ and ‘painful’ decision the couple made after ‘a lot of consideration’, while Gisele, 42, said: ‘Ending a marriage is never easy… we have separate.
This time, Brady has had to make repeated confirmations that this time he really is walking away from the game for good.
Bundchen’s comments to Vanity Fair echo his past defenses of Brady.
After watching Patriots receiver Wes Welker throw a crucial fourth-quarter pass in New England’s Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants 11 years ago, Bundchen was caught on camera defending Brady against the wife of teammate Vince Wilfork.
“He didn’t even catch the ball when he was supposed to catch the ball,” he was caught telling Bundchen in the bowels of Lucas Oil Stadium. “My husband can’t throw the ball and catch it at the same time.”

Bundchen would later blame the comment on the wine he had been drinking that night.
“The whole stadium was so tense, you felt like, I mean, I was like, I couldn’t handle it, it was too much for me,” he said in 2021, as quoted by the New York Post. ‘He was like a nail biter. I was like, “Give me some wine.”
“I was with Bianca, Vince Wilfork’s wife, and she was like, ‘G, come on, have another.’ And you know I’m drinking wine because I’m just trying to relax.” I think it was the most stressful match ever.
“So I’m drinking wine with Bianca and then in the end they lost.”
But while he’s been somewhat supportive of Brady’s football career, he’s also spent years urging him to retire.
In 2017, he told CBS that he had secretly battled unreported concussions.
“He had a concussion last year,” he said. ‘I mean, she has quite a few concussions. We don’t talk about it, but she has concussions.
A joint review by the NFL and the players union ultimately determined that there was no evidence that he suffered concussions.
In 2018, Bundchen jokingly told DeGeneres that she had “not been very successful” in trying to convince Brady to quit, suggesting the TV host give it a try.
Brady eventually retired in early 2022, only to change his mind 40 days later. He and Bundchen divorced in October after 13 years of marriage, and he retired for good after the 2022 season.
