Gisele Bündchen breaks her silence on ex-husband Tom Brady’s NFL retirement

Gisele Bündchen has finally broken her silence on her ex-husband’s NFL retirement, wishing him only “wonderful things” in Brady’s retirement video on social media.

Hours after the 45-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion announced he was ending his 22-year NFL career “forever,” the Brazilian supermodel shared a comment on her Instagram post.

“I wish you wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” Bündchen wrote, along with a praying hands emoji.

Gisele Bündchen said she only wished her ex-husband “wonderful things” in her retirement video on Instagram on Wednesday.

Brady and Bündchen were married for 13 years before announcing their divorce in October.

Bündchen has recently been seen with his old friend, the jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.

Brady and Bündchen now share two children, Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 12, after finalizing their divorce in October. The former power couple were married for 13 years, from 2009 to last year. During winter break, the mother of two was spotted in Costa Rica, warming up with her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.

The 45-year-old quarterback is also the father of 15-year-old Jack, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend and actress Bridget Moynahan.

In October, the seven-time Super Bowl winner, who announced his first retirement from football in February 2022 but reversed his decision the following month, said ending his marriage to Bündchen was “painful and difficult.”

“However, we only wish the best for each other as we search for the new chapters of our lives that have yet to be written.” “And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what’s to come in the days and weeks ahead.”

Bündchen, 42, said they had “amicably” finalized the divorce.

‘My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue to be co-parents to give them the love, care and attention they so deserve,” she said on Instagram.

“The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we’ve grown apart and while it’s of course difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed by the time we spent together and only wish the best for Tom always.”

Bündchen and Valente were photographed running together in Costa Rica in early January.

Earlier this month, a source close to Bündchen said the model “adored” and “trusted” Valente.

Brady and Bündchen shared two children together: daughter Vivian, 12, and son, Benjamin, 13.

The former power couple were married for 13 years, from 2009 to October 2022.

Bundchen had expressed concern about Brady’s health playing in the often violent workplace that is the NFL, admitting in an Elle magazine story that she had those conversations with her husband.

“I have my concerns,” Bundchen said in the September article. “This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.”

Brady spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, winning six Super Bowls before moving to Tampa Bay in 2020 and leading the Bucs to a championship in his first season with the team.

But the future Hall of Famer’s play this season hasn’t reached his usual high standards, the frustration manifesting itself in explosive exchanges on the sidelines and the throwing of his helmet and a tablet.

Brady uncharacteristically showed his frustration at one point this season, throwing tables and helmets off the Bucs’ bench.

Brady’s body language throughout this season also had others guessing that the 45-year-old might call him a day before his announcement on Wednesday.

Brady’s retirement announcement follows the Buccaneers’ Wild Card Series loss to the Dallas Cowboys and a losing regular season, a low mark in Brady’s remarkable career.

An underrated prospect coming out of college, Brady was the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, but he made the most of his opportunity when it finally came and turned the fortunes of the Patriots franchise around.

At the start of the 2001 campaign, Brady was an unknown backup, but he took over the starting role in the second game of the season after starter Drew Bledsoe was injured. Brady never relinquished the role.

Brady led the Patriots to an 11-3 record that season, culminating in an upset victory over the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl, where he was named the game’s MVP, beginning one of the greatest dynasties in any sport.
