Girls5eva comedy after airing for two seasons on Peacock gets renewed for third season on Netflix

Girls5Eva has been renewed for a third season on Netflix after broadcasting the first two seasons on Peacock.
The musical comedy follows girl group Girls5Eva who were a one-hit wonder around 2000 and are reunited after a young rapper samples their hit song.
“Our fame starts 3day, and it doesn’t end 4morrow, we’re girls5eva can we get a high 6??,” Netflix posted on Twitter on Thursday.

“Girls5eva Seasons 1-2 is coming to Netflix and Season 3 is coming!” the tweet added.
Meredith Scardino, 46, created Girls5Eva after previously writing for Colbert Report, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and the Peacock comedy Mr. Mayor who was canceled in May after two seasons.
Scardino is also an executive producer along with Tina Fey, her husband Jeff Richmond, Robert Carlock, David Miner and Eric Gurian.
Executive producers Scardino, Fey, 52, Richmond, 61, and Carlock, 50, have released a joint statement regarding the move to Netflix.

We can’t wait to introduce Dawn, Wickie, Summer and Gloria to the worldwide Netflix audience. Well, not fully introducing, if you look closely, Girls5eva can be seen in the background of the Woodstock ’99 documentary that sets a porta jar on fire’, she added.
Girls5Eva stars Sara Bareilles, 42, as self-proclaimed ‘chill one’ Dawn, Busy Philipps, 43, as self-proclaimed ‘hot one’ Summer, Paula Pell, 59, as ‘always working one’ Gloria and Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry , 51, as self-proclaimed ‘fierce’ Wickie.

The series was renewed by Peacock for a second season that premiered in May 2022, but was canceled the following month.
Fey previously produced Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with Ellie Kemper in the title role for NBC before it was acquired by Netflix.
Goldsberry also recently starred in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law as a lawyer Mallory Book.
Grammy winner Bareilles gave a free concert in her hometown of Eureka, California, earlier this month for about 11,000 residents of a waterfront park, and the city council named it Sara Bareilles Day and handed her the key to the city.
