During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in late January, Watts spoke about her furry co-star and his real name, Bing.
She explained that he was much bigger than her dog Izzy
“I have a six-pound dog,” she told the talk show host. “This dog weighs 150 pounds, I believe. And it’s my co-star. It’s really huge.’
She was excited about the opportunity to star opposite an animal in a lead role in the film, saying Bing is “very sweet.”
“It’s not often that a dog plays the lead role,” she said. ‘It’s a special dog. Very sweet. He’s a good dog.’
She also talked about what it takes to perform with a dog and explained that they often work with a trainer while shooting.
“I have to do all kinds of dog training,” she explained. “You know, every twenty minutes we have to go through all these tricks. He can do a lot of things.’
As production is still ongoing, a release date for The Friend has not yet been announced.
