Girlfriend Paula Badosa gives Stefanos Tsitsipas’ father glaring side-eye during Andy Murray epic

Stafanos Tsitsipas’ girlfriend, Paula Badosa, attended her partner’s epic match with Andy Murray on Thursday night, but eagle-eyed fans caught her not being overly impressed by his father and coach Apostolos during the confrontation.

The Greek fifth seed was three sets in an undermining fight with Murray under the center court lights before play was paused before the 11pm curfew, with the former rivals returning to action for the fourth set on Friday.

Having lost the first set tie-break, the two-time former champion had fought back, taking the second and third sets to lead 2–1, recovering from a late injury just before the match was halted.

As her partner struggled to hold back Murray’s comeback attack, Badosa was seen angrily looking at the back of Apostolos’ head after the 55-year-old turned to check her out between points.

But instead of just glancing back at her boyfriend’s longtime coach, the Spanish star flipped him for a few seconds, seemingly unimpressed with Tsitsipas’ father.

Seeing the footage, one fan commented, “She’s known Stefanos for two minutes and already had it with his dad!”

And another added, “Not Paula giving my man Apo (Apostolos) the side eye,” followed by a crying emoji.

Badosa – expected on Court 18 for her own second round clash with Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk on Friday morning – has already made headlines at this year’s championships after revealing a sex dream she had about Tsitsipas.

The pair have been publicly dating since the French Open, but Badosa unsolicited the story of how she had a racy dream about the Greek tennis star in Australia earlier this year.

“Yeah, well, I got injured in Australia. I watched his match, the final. Of course I was jet lagged because I was in Spain. I decided to watch that match,” she told a press conference at Wimbledon earlier this week.

‘Surprising, because I never dream about tennis players, but I dreamed about him that night, that we both won the Australian Open.

“Then it was like we had a very romantic moment, but I’m not going to explain it. I’ll just leave it at that,” which was greeted with laughter from those in attendance for the unexpected insight into her personal life.

They’ve only been public about their relationship for a few months, with the 25-year-old being present during the No. 5 ranked men’s player matches at the French Open in May.

Nevertheless, the pair appear to be very close already, with Tsitsipas calling Badosa his ‘soul mate’ when speaking to the BBC as part of their coverage of the tournament.

“I feel happy and satisfied,” Tsitsipas recently told Eurosport.

“I’ve never felt such a connection to anyone. I don’t want to cringe or sound like that because that’s the reality and that’s what I’m dealing with.

“I am extremely blessed and happy that this has come to this stage of my life.

“I get to do what I love and I get to do it with someone who understands and understands me completely. I am very interested in her mind more than anything.

“Of course there’s attraction, but sometimes it’s also just a soul interaction and falling in love with her spirit.” It’s very rare for these things to happen.’

The pair also have an Instagram account together – tsitsidosa – and share a number of photos from their travels.

The pair will share the field in the mixed doubles competition, hoping perhaps their shared chemistry will pay off on the grass.

They will face Jessica Pegula and Austin Krajicek on Friday, both of whom are now also competing in singles.

But they won’t be the only couple teaming up this year, with Katie Boulter – Britain’s leading hope in the women’s draw – lining up with boyfriend Alex de Minaur.

The pair first met in 2020 and have been together ever since, but this will be the first time they will take to the field together in doubles competition.

Boulter has made a good start in the main draw and has safely progressed to the third round, where she will meet reigning champion Elene Rybakina, after victories over Daria Saville and Viktoriya Tomova.
