Paris authorities have launched an investigation after a three-year-old girl was found in the washing machine in her family’s apartment, prosecutors said.
An investigation into the cause of death began on Friday after the boy was discovered in northeast Paris on Thursday night, the capital’s prosecutor’s office said. A special unit for the protection of minors is leading the investigation.

The autopsy has not yet taken place. According to statements by his 48-year-old father, the door of the washing machine was closed when relatives found it.
After returning from work, the father had dinner with his wife of 37 years and one of their children.
By the end of the meal, the parents became concerned about the girl’s absence, reports Le Parisien.
So the whole family went looking for her, inside and outside the apartment, and asked the neighbors for help.
Once the daughter was found, the father immediately called emergency services for medical assistance, the publication added.
