Girl, 13, ‘stabs seven-year-old sister to death while babysitting after argument about flushing the toilet’

A 13-year-old girl has been accused of stabbing her seven-year-old sister to death while she was babysitting after they got into an argument over ‘a simple note about flushing the toilet’.

The unidentified teen reportedly frantically called her father before calling 911 after stabbing her sister more than a dozen times in Taylor, Michigan, just after 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect, who was keeping an eye on her sibling while their parents were out of the house, allegedly waited in the bathroom for the little girl after their heated argument and stabbed her multiple times with a hunting and butcher knife, police said.

When authorities arrived at the home, they found the unnamed girl with “over 10 stab wounds ranging from the abdomen, head and neck,” according to Taylor Detective Cpl. said Zachary Digiacomo.

The younger sibling was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Shocked neighbors quickly gathered to mourn the ‘sweet’ seven-year-old who rode her bike up and down the street every day.

“It was just a very tragic day, a very tragic day for us,” Julie Pagoto said WXYZ.

“She walked up and down the street every day, riding her bike… stopping and talking to the neighbors. She was the sweetest little girl.”

Pagoto said she spoke to the young girl the night before the fateful incident. “And now she’s gone,” she said.

The girls’ parents left them home alone around 11.15am before an argument broke out between the sisters.

“It stemmed from a note that was left in the bathroom and the note was about flushing the toilet,” Digacamo said.

Digacamo revealed that the teenager was “very calm and did not show any emotion” when authorities arrived.

Although prosecutors were inclined to charge the teen as an adult for the crime, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said she will instead be held in the juvenile justice system.

“Given her young age, the state would have seven years to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate her until her mandatory release at age 21.

‘Hopefully she wouldn’t pose a danger to others. While this is a difficult decision, given these facts it is the right decision in this case,” Worthy said.

The 13-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse for killing her sister.

Police said the girls’ parents were shocked and said the teen had never been a problem at school or at home.

Despite what her parents claimed, neighbors say the girl was “strange.”

“She’s real quiet and stuff, she looks like one of the strangers,” one boy said Fox 2.

“But I’ve never seen her like that – I never thought she would do something like that,” he added.

“She’s very quiet and everything, she’s like one of the stranger creatures,” one boy (right) told Fox 2. Another child, Matthew (left), was also “shocked” after hearing about the vicious attack.

A memorial was erected on the family’s front lawn Monday with flowers, a soccer ball, stuffed animals and the little girl’s purple bicycle.

Another local child, named only as Matthew, was also ‘shocked’ when he heard about the attack.

“When my grandma told me, I was shocked because there were best friends, even though they were sisters,” Matthew told the outlet.

“They always played together, they had My Little Pony toys and they played with each other.”

Digacomo stressed that while it is normal for siblings to fight, this case was extreme.

‘They only shed light on normal arguments between siblings. As a child, you constantly argue with your siblings, but it doesn’t lead to this,” he noted.
