A little girl has tragically died after choking on one of her ‘favorite’ treats in the back seat of her family’s car during a drive home.
Samantha Lennon picked up her five-year-old daughter Imogen from swimming lessons on January 16 and gave her a frankfurter to snack on as they drove back to their home in Canowindra, in mid-west New South Wales.
But as Imogen was chatting happily with her mother from the back seat, she suddenly began to choke.
Her mother immediately called an ambulance, but when told it was too far to make it in time, she herself took Imogen to the hospital with the help of a passerby.
Despite her heroic efforts, Imogen later passed away at the hospital.

Family friend Tamara Harrison described Imogen as a “bright, determined, caring and daring five-year-old”.
“To make sense of such a tragic loss in such a way is inconceivable, no words can accurately describe how shattered Imogen’s family is,” Ms Harrison wrote in a GoFundMe established to help the family.
It is impossible to imagine life without Imogen.
Mrs. Harrison said that wieners were one of Imogen’s “favourite” snacks after swimming lessons.
The five-year-old was the youngest child and leaves behind parents Samantha and William, older brothers Hayden and Bailey, sister Tamzin and a large extended family.
The fundraiser, which will help his family cover funeral costs, has raised $21,297 of its $25,000 goal since it launched Saturday.

Ms Harrison said the Lennons are “true Aussie fighters” who are always helping others.
“They would give the shirts off their backs, without a second thought if someone needed it,” he wrote.
“The burden of trying to find the money to pay for Imogen’s final resting place and a proper celebration of her short life is a burden I would like to take off this family as they deal with such an unthinkable tragedy.”
Tributes have flowed online for the vibrant boy.

“I’m so sorry, such a beautiful and sweet girl, sending you all my love and thoughts,” a friend wrote.
Another said: ‘We’re so sorry Samantha and Bill. We only met Immy once, but she was so bright and bubbly and gorgeous that we will always remember her that way.”
‘A brief encounter with you, little Imogen…you have left your mark on my heart,’ someone else said.
Imogen, described as bright and caring, will be sent off at a local church on Saturday.
Mourners have been asked to wear “bright colours” for the service in his memory.
